ASSACC took on the challenge of carrying out its first water supply project to support rural populations with little to no access to clean drinking water, especially women and young children who are badly affected by waterborne diseases.
With the support of generous donors including Verdun Windows and Doors which funded 39,000 CAD, we built a solar powered water well to provide clean drinking water to the populations of the village of Mankwa with over 380 families. The village is located in the Melong sub-division, in the the Littoral province of Cameroon.
Built by the construction company Free Energy Engineering, the well was inaugurated on February 24, 2023 in the presence of the president of ASSACC, a representative from Verdun Doors and Windows and the village chief.
